The most joyful of all the scriptures concerning the birth of Jesus are these (in my humble opinion):
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. “This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased. Luke 2:10-14 NASB
A Savior has been born! The news is joyful – not just for one or two of us – but for ALL people.
Are your circumstances threatening to steal your joy this Christmas? Take time to abide in God’s word, and ponder the miracle of Jesus’ birth. Find your favorite scriptures and rejoice in them. Prepare room in your heart for Him. Join with nature and sing with joy!
“For you will go out with joy and be led forth with peace; The mountains and the hills will break forth into shouts of joy before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.” Isaiah 55:12 NASB
Joy to the world! The Lord is come:
let earth receive her King!
Let every heart prepare Him room
and heaven and nature sing.
Merry Christmas! May you be filled with the joy of His presence and His word this year and always.
